Bryan Butcher

Bryan Butcher was appointed commissioner of the Alaska Department of Revenue by Governor Sean Parnell beginning in January 2011.

Previously, Mr. Butcher was the director of governmental relations and public affairs for the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation (AHFC) for eight years and, in a dual role, was vice president of the recently formed Alaska Gasline Development Corporation (AGDC) since 2010.

In 2009, Mr. Butcher served as a special assistant working on economic development issues for Governor Parnell. Mr. Butcher also served as a member of former Governor Sarah Palin’s gasline team through the Alaska Gasline Inducement Act (AGIA) process.

Before joining AHFC in 2003, Mr. Butcher worked for the Alaska Legislature as an aide for the House and Senate Finance Committees for 12 years.

Mr. Butcher also served as the coordinator for Governor Parnell’s statewide transition team.

A lifelong Alaskan born and raised in Anchorage, Mr. Butcher holds a bachelor of science from the University of Oregon.
